No matter who you are and what you want to read, there is a book club out there for you.  Whether you need support through a tough time, have physical impairments, want to read and review books before they come out or are a House Republican, this month’s Book Club in the News feature has got you covered.  And yes, you read that right!

Northwich Guardian:  Northwich Library starts reading therapy group
We’ve always know reading is good for you, but the Northwich Library in the UK has taken it on step further with a reading group especially for people going through a difficult time.

MediaBistro.com:  The Rumpus Launches Book Club with Promises of Unreleased Galley Copies
Interesting new theory for a book club… you pay to be a member, but you get to read books before they are out and review them.  The best reviews are published, and there’s a moderated discussion with the author.  Will it work?

Booklist Online: Mail-A-Book and Talk-A-Book
There all kinds of book clubs out there for all kinds of people, but the Queens Library has a new concept that makes book clubs and the library available even to the homebound.  It’s a call in book club.  What a great idea.

Huffington Post:  House Republican Book Club Skips Hearing to Talk with Author
Who even knew the House Republicans had a book club.  Not sure if it’s good or bad that they are learning about the financial crisis from author Michael Lewis.  Maybe it’s good, after all Lewis has done a lot of research, but maybe they should stick to reading fiction and having their meetings after hours.
