Kitty Burns Florey was born in Syracuse, New York, and lived for many years in Boston and New Haven. She now lives in Brooklyn with her husband, the painter Ron Savage. The author of eight novels including Family Matters, Vigil for a Stranger, and Duet, as well as numerous short stories and essays, she is also the recipient of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
