Jan Yager
Jan Yager has a doctorate in sociology from the City University of New York and a masters in criminal justice. Her nonfiction book Victims (Scribner's, 1978), was widely acclaimed by the Washington Post, Booklist, Kirkus, and Psychology Today for its comprehensive study of the aftermath of crime on its victims, their families, and their friends. A former assistant professor at the New York Institute of Technology, she has also taught criminal justice courses at Temple University and The New School for Social Research. The Yagers live in Connecticut with their two sons. This is their first novel. It was translated into Swedish and published by Kentaur Press in October 2000. The British rights to Untimely Death have also been sold.
